System Design Manager

FULL TIME

If you are a brilliant Systems Designer, then you already know you may as well be a unicorn. You’re that rare creature who’s been around long enough to have seen it all, yet still have a youthful, insatiable appetite for learning the latest and greatest technology and memorizing the entire catalog of, well, the entire industry. You’re the ultimate A/V, lighting, shading and automation GEEK and can’t imagine not being involved in a project from the earliest design phase. You’re also trilingual, of course. Meaning: you speak both “client” and “sales” fluently and know how to translate it all into design and budget poetry. If this is you, and you’ve only stopped thinking up the next crazy feat of engineering in order to read this job posting, and know you can prove the difference between formulaic, expected thinking and true artistry, then we want you on Team Cantara.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

Our System Design Manager should technically be the smartest person in our company, and preferably on the whole jobsite. You’ll be our mastermind, turning 60-minute meetings into room-by-room, part-by-part plans of attack.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In compliance with Company policies, procedures, standards, guidelines as well as applicable federal, state, and local law, codes and regulations, the Systems Design Manager shall:

  • Maintain excellent customer relations

  • Lead company design philosophy and standards, as well as create and communicate specific project plans

  • Interface with Vendor Sales / Specifier

  • Interface with Clients

  • Be the ultimate, reliable, efficient knowledge base on Product Specification

  • Create Executive Summaries (SOW’s)

  • Facilitate pre-contract drawings

  • Create line-item proposals

  • Oversee all changes of scope (via Change Orders)

  • Provide detailed oversight of probable cost documents

  • Create pre-contract floorplans

  • Provide specialty budgeting or other pre-contract documents necessary

  • Approve project completion

  • Design contract management and fulfillment

  • Brilliantly document a complete project & all associated data

  • Track and stay in integrity with personal goals

  • Work effectively and provide feedback to supervisors where improvements could be made

  • Manage time, tasks, responsibilities with intention and ease

  • Delegate responsibly and as needed, with clarity, authority and respect
